About Mary Riley
Mary Riley has been a member of the Institute for the Advancement of Service for more than 17 years. During that time, she has taken numerous Institute trainings and workshops. Mary has also completed training in leadership and organizational design. She has co-led classes in the Enneagram, Tibetan meditation, sound healing, and conscious living.
Mary has served as Chair of Alexandria’s Community Services Board, Chair of the ALIVE! House Shelter for Women and Families and Strategic Planning Chair for Alexandria’s Homeless Services Coordinating Committee (HSCC), where she oversaw development of the City’s Ten-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. She also served for many years as a Commissioner on the City’s Economic Opportunities Commission and on the Public Health Advisory Commission. She is a founding member of the Alexandria Mentoring Partnership and served as Chair of the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria’s Mental Health Anti-Stigma HOPE Campaign. Prior to her full-time volunteer activities in the community, Mary was a Senior Principal with the Hay Group, an international management consulting firm. At Hay, she served as Project Manager and senior consultant on client assignments dealing with a wide range of strategic and human resource management issues in numerous public and private sector organizations.
